Most of the time. you will be able to clone your blogs immediatly.

Usually, WP Cloner will run "out of the box" on most web hosts. It has been tested on multiple hosting environments and is used across the world to clone tens of thousands of Wordpress blogs.

In rare occasions, depending on your server environment, there will be issues.

If you are having problems, chances are they are specific to your server or blogs!

First thing to do is to run the Test requirements link for both your Master and Target blog in order to verify that your server or blogs are meeting technical requirements.

A good idea is also to check with your web host if your server is meeting all listed requirements

Specifically, you may want to check that your server can establish outgoing FTP connections and that all plugins you intend to clone are 100% compatible with your version of Wordpress!

Now, if you have problems while cloning your blogs, here is what we would need from you in order to resolve your issue:

  • In order to further investigate the issue, please create two fresh, default, test WP blogs and add them to your WPC install, one as the Master blog and one as the target blog.
  • Please note that, for testing purposes, they should be *fresh*, *default* Wordpress blogs, without any custom content, plugins or themes...
  • As a reminder, a default Wordpress blog can be installed manually using the Wordpress's 5-min tutorial or automatically using Fantastico or WP Auto Installer. Please note that WPAI, not only auto-installs blogs on a large scale, but also enable you to 1-click upgrade, backup and restore them!
  • Also, please remove from your WPC install all non-test blogs. You may want to export them in order to reimport them after testing.
  • Once this is done, please give us your admin WPC login + your WP test blogs admin password + a FTP account going into your WPC folder, in a single post or email.
  • Please do not clone that test blog as we need to test it ourselves.
